Geological Field Campaigns

Fieldwork & Scientific Expeditions

Lacustrine sediment coring, watershed soil erosion monitoring, geomorphosite surveys, and coastal marine risk evaluations across Morocco.

Paleoclimate Fieldwork

Middle Atlas Lacustrine Archives & Lake Ifrah

Comprehensive sediment coring and terrace stratigraphy campaigns across Middle Atlas lakes (notably Lake Ifrah and surrounding lacustrine basins). Field sampling of microcharcoal, pollen, and geochemical indicators to reconstruct fire regimes and paleohydrological changes covering the last 30,000 years.

Location: Middle Atlas Lakes, Morocco • Lacustrine coring & terrace stratigraphy
Hydrology & Erosion

Upper Oum Er-Rbia & Lakbab Catchment Field Surveys

Multi-scale field campaigns analyzing erosion processes, gully sensitivity, and sediment transport in the Upper Oum Er-Rbia basin and the Lakbab sub-watershed. Implementing field monitoring plots, sediment traps, and geomorphometric verification for EPM and machine learning predictive models.

Location: Central High Atlas & Middle Atlas • OCDS-CUD Projects
Geological Heritage

M’Goun UNESCO Geopark & Khénifra National Park

Extensive territorial field expeditions dedicated to inventorying, surveying, and valorizing geomorphosites across the Béni Mellal–Khénifra region. Assessing scientific and educational geotouristic values to foster sustainable regional development and geological conservation.

Location: M’Goun Geopark & Khénifra National Park • Geomorphosite Assessment
Coastal & Seismic Studies

Mediterranean Coastal Rif & Nekor Watershed

Coastal field sampling of modern beach sands and fluvial sediments along the Mediterranean coastal Rif belt; investigation of natural marine hazards and coastal erosion in Northern Morocco; and field assessment of seismic vulnerability across the Rif Chain.

Location: Northern Rif Belt, Nekor Watershed & Mediterranean Coast
